Gene Kangas ArtWork:   Wood Sculpture

GENE'S more complex sculptural lathe-turned WOOD concepts are characterized by the RATTLE BALL SERIES and by sculptures featuring negative figural cutouts, exemplified by the CAT SERIES and RUSHMORE. One element of the CAT SERIES traveled on exhibition to Japan. The RUSHMORE piece is a complex re-combination of Mount Rushmore's presidential portraits of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and Theodore Roosevelt along with the surprising addition of Albert Einstein. GENE'S newest direction is a series of PYRAMIDAL SCULPTURAL PRINTS which combine three dimensional form with photographic digital images. Wood Sculptures can be purchased through CREEKSIDE.
