Gene Kangas ArtWork: 1981-2003 Sculpture

The period 1981-2003 is characterized by a serious concentration on Public Art Commissions, which afforded an abundance of materials and access to industrial technology. Commissions permitted significant large-scale sculpture to be created for permanent public locations. GENE'S materials during this period most often included welded and painted steel, stainless steel, Corten steel, and cast aluminum. His commissions were both indoor and outdoor site-specific sculptures and environments. Sites: Cuyahoga County Justice Center, Cleveland OH; Frank J.
